23 Sep Music to Make to: Dark Skies
During my college days we were assigned to create a music video as a critical section of our studies. Desperate to use something out of the ordinary commercial sphere I searched the internet looking for an artist willing to give a young student an colaboration opportunity. I encountered the neurofunk genre and an Austrian artist called Wreckage Machinery “Christopher W”. Looking back the premise of the piece was very bizarre and I really used it all as a excuse to mess around with Camera tracking, Cinema 4D and some slider shots. Safe to say I passed and there are no existing remains of the video.
So how does this tie into Exmoor National Park’s Dark Skies project? Wreckage Machinary’s Elysium has been licenced for use on this project. It’s great to have the opportunity to used Christopher’s music again on a project that will help highlight the wonders of the cosmos, a theme commonly visited in his music. The Album EP: The Unreleased Bytes, Pt. 1 includes many airy celestial sounds, a perfect match for starry timelapses. Elysim stood out for me as the obvious choice with a nice soft progressive instrumental leading into an interesting climatic ensemble.
